ARK: Survival Evolved

ARK SE through SteamCMD (not Survival Ascended).

Requirements

About 8 GB RAM and 25 GB of disk. Run hostable preflight ark.

Create

sudo hostable create ark "Friends Ark" --accept-license

Installs app 376030 with SteamCMD, writes GameUserSettings.ini, Game.ini and start.sh (default map Fjordur), and opens 7777/udp, 7778/udp and 27015/udp.

IMPORTANT

ARK uses a fixed set of ports, so one ARK server per machine is supported. Hostable refuses to start a second one while the ports are taken.

Config

The TUI editor shows GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini. Restart after changes.

Console, updates and backups

The same commands as other games work: hostable console, hostable update, hostable backup. Live backups of ARK can be slightly inconsistent because its save files are large and active. Stop the server first if you need a perfect copy.
